Katie Koester was a 12 year member of Milwaukee Children’s Choir and began singing with the choir when she was in 1st grade. Since her days with the choir, Katie has studied vocal performance at The Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY and recently graduated with a Bachelor of Music. Katie was also inducted into the National Music Honors Society, Phi Kappa Lambda last Spring! Katie now lives in Milwaukee and is taking time to study voice before attending grad school.
“MCC was really where I got started singing and began to gain the vocal and musical skills that inspired me to further my music career”, explains Katie. “The friends I met in MCC, the great music I got to experience, and the discipline I learned through the organization were important to my development into an adult and a singer”.
As Katie reflects on her time spent in the choir, some of her favorite memories include singing Mahler's 8th Symphony with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and traveling throughout Austria and the Czech Republic.
